                                           Missing Piece...by Uzo Okoye

A desperate search for what ‘more’ there is to life, eventually leads John Williams to answers. But tragically, everything falls apart, just as his journey appears to be complete. His picture-perfect life is stripped apart - piece by piece - and lies in a crumpled heap. To make matters worse, a troubling dark secret from his past returns to haunt him.
Will John accept his new reality? Is he brave enough to fight for the truth? Or will the enticement to return to his seeming perfect past prove too much of a temptation to resist?

OUR REVIEW

At first read of Missing Piece by Uzo Okoye, I found myself not liking the opulent lifestyle of John Williams, high powered and most sought after lawyer in a prominent law firm. His son had shut John out of his life, daughter Lola retreated into her own shell, and his wife Amy was in a miserable state. Their marriage hanging on by a thread.

Realizing the strong emotions I was feeling while reading this story, reminded me that author Uzo Okoye had excellently penned the right words in such a fashion, that I was actually believing this story was true, and I was taking this family and their troubles to heart.

As serious problems mounted with his firm and a suspicious event from his private life comes back to haunt him,  John's life spiraled into a bottomless pit, and the story unfolded by reveling each family member's past, and why they acted in the manner that they did. John reached out to an old friend, who had a completely different lifestyle from his. Decisions were made but the question remains, could life get any worse then it was, and will this new decision make a change?

This story is as real as it can get. Even though the characters are more affluent then the average everyday person, a life without God is still void.
